Random entry for loser-kid and VictoriaRoseTimelord's OC contest.

I really just wanted to try to paint with a more painterly style, and I think I figured out one thing. Shape dynamics = off, opacity control = on. I can adjust the size of the brush myself, when I want it smaller.

I like how the horse came out the best, I fought with the rest of it. ref

Two things had to be included, the star pin is on her hat, and you can ALMOST see the sonic pen in her pocket. It's there! Swears.

I used to set the brush like that when I painted, but Garrett suggested keeping them both on so I tried that out. Ended up with stuff like this [link] as opposed to stuff like this [link] with not a lot of time difference... I think the real secret to awesome digital painting may just be a billion of layers =P

I think another secret is to use photoshop and the dual brush. n__n

Though Garrett paints on one! He's just insane.

I think the secret is lots and lots of practise.

Oh, Garrett uses SO MANY layers. He does all the grunt work on one, then uses a ton of multiply layers and overlays to tweak it to get the exact tones and stuff he wants.

i think we all know the answer here, Garrett clearly isnt human!

Yay for painting practice! I too have been fiddling with the photoshop this summer..still need to play around with textures more, I dont know why but I dont like to go too textured..I'm sure there's 1992839282 tricks to textures, but I have yet to find them out.

Angie, I like this lots.. your paintings too Kelly. Keep it up guys! :D
